I've been so busy with other stuff i've been useless at keeping this blog going. However one of my new years resolutions is to try and keep this going. Watch this space (hopefuly) :)

Kenzo On Holiday

Well we have just been on our first holiday (vacation) with Kenzo.

He sat in the car for the 2 hour trip from Dundee to Aviemore and was fantastic. We stopped after an hour for 5 mins to give him a chance to have a drink etc and one relieved and refreshed he jumped back in to the car without incident. He did no damage to our holiday cottage I have no qualms about taking him on holiday in the future.

I'm so happy, this is the first time we have been away with him and he was superb. He is a very sociable dog and although he is only obedient when severly bribed or when he feels like it he did behave really well.

We took him to Inverness and although it was his first time in a very busy place with lots of people and traffic he was no problem. The only problem was trying to find Dog friendly establishments!

There is a Sled Dog centre ( http://www.sled-dogs.co.uk ) just outside Aviemore that we wanted to visit, unfortunately they would not allow us to bring the dog for the tour. This is understandable however what was dissapointing is that they did not have any facilities where we could leave Kenzo other than in our car. As it was approaching 20° celsius this was a definate no-no so we ended up not going.

On one of our many walks in the hills he did try to chase a Deer though and ended up pulling Iain (my eldest son) at full tilt for about 400 yards !!!

Back Again !!!!!!

Jings! Where has all the time gone Kenzo is now 6 months old and causing all sorts of mischief. I'll post a full update soon. I need more time in a day!!!!

Socks are Tasty!

Kenzo and Leonardo are now getting on quite well. They can sit about a foot apart and were even sleeping this close on one occasion.

Kenzo has developed a serious passion for cat food!(meal times are very interesting trying to keep them from eating each others food)

On a more worrying note he also thought Cameron's sock was quite tasty and had swallowed it before I could get to him. After being very worried at first I googled "dog swallowed sock" and spent about half an hour in hysterics at the numerous stories of socks, knickers and even bras that have been swallowed by various dogs.

Just to be safe though we phoned the Vet and he said just to watch out for it being passed.

The next morning we found it in his bed shaped like a filled sausage! He had obviously vomited it up during the night-which was quite a relief.

House Training is going well and we have had a clean carpet for the last week.

Jackie took him to the Vet Yesterday to get his second injection and his electronic neck tag. And he was fantastic at the Vet and also in the car.

This morning Kenzo decided he would stand up to our Cat(Leonardo).

After initial wary encounters over the past week they seemed to be getting on fine and were happy to lie within a few feet of each other.

When they get too close Kenzo has retreated form the Cat but it was different this morning, Kenzo held his ground and this created a weird stalemate situation with hissing and barking.Then they both went away.

I'm hoping Kenzo just wants to play with the Cat
